THE LEGO MOVIE OPENS WITH AN AWESOME $69.1 MILLION



Everything is awesome! Congratulations to everyone that has something to do with The Lego Movie. The film version of the 70-year-old toy debuts with a whooping $69.1 million, according to studio estimates from Rentrak.

The figure includes $17.14m on Friday; $30.9m on Saturday, an 80% increase; and $21m Sunday, 22% more than Friday.
The Lego Movie is the second-largest February debut of all-time after the $83m Fri-Sun number for The Passion of the Christ 10years ago.


The Lego Movie gets the no.1 spot in the box-office leaving George Clooney's World War II film "The Monuments Men" a distant second.
