GERMANY, GOOGLE TAKE A STAND AGAINST RUSSIA'S ANTI-GAY LAW

Yes, Google is expressing its opposition to Russia's anti-gay law.

The new Google homepage features a sports image above each of the six letters in its name, representing several of the major competitions in the 2014 Games: skiing, hockey, curling, bobsledding, figure skating and snowboarding:

Google is celebrating the kickoff to the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics in Russia through the colorful rainbow doodle and at the same time takes a stand against Russia's anti-gay law.

If you read the quote below the doodle that you start to catch on to Google's true message:

"The practice of sport is a human right. Every individual must have the possibility of practicing sport, without discrimination of any kind and in the Olympic spirit, which requires mutual understanding with a spirit of friendship, solidarity and fair play." -- Olympic Charter

The updated logo appears on Google pages worldwide including Russia.

Also, Team Germany gets a lot of attention with their rainbow uniform. However the German Olympic Sports Confederation has stated that the uniforms are not a protest.
