With the world-wide outpouring of aid after the most powerful storm ever to hit the land typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan), there doesn’t seem to be a nationality that has not offered to help.
While the Philippines faces these challenges, no help is too small.
To the little girls in America who sold lemonade; to the 6-year old Japanese boy Shoichi and Qatar little girl Lana and every kid who donated their piggy-bank savings and allowances; to the billions donated by countries large and small, to everyone who prays, thinks and cares about the Philippines and the Filipinos,
Thank You!!! =)
Thank You from the Filipino nation!
Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Thanksgiving is a holiday celebrated in the United States on the fourth Thursday in November. It's been an annual tradition since 1863, when, during the Civil War, President Abraham Lincoln proclaimed a national day of "Thanksgiving and Praise to our beneficent Father who dwelleth in the Heavens", to be celebrated on Thursday, November 26, (1863).
"Thanksgiving and Praise to our beneficent Father
who dwelleth in the Heavens"
Why Turkey? One story tells of how Queen Elizabeth of 16th century England loved a roast goose during a harvest festival. When news was delivered to her that the Spanish Armada had sunk on it way to attack her beloved England, the queen was so pleased that she order a second goose to celebrate the great news. Thus, the goose became the favorite bird at harvest time in England.
When the Pilgrims arrived in America from England, roasted turkey replaced roasted goose as the main cuisine simply because wild turkeys were more abundant and easier to find than geese. :)
THANKSGIVING
by Florence Earle Coates
by Florence Earle Coates
Now gracious plenty rules the board,
And in the purse is gold;
By multitudes in glad accord
Thy giving is extolled.
Ah, suffer me to thank Thee, Lord,
For what thou dost withhold!
I thank Thee that howe'er we climb
There yet is something higher;
That though through all our reach of time
We to the stars aspire,
Still, still beyond us burns sublime
The pure sidereal fire!
I thank Thee for the unexplained,
The hope that lies before,
The victory that is not gained,—
O Father, more and more
I thank Thee for the unattained,
The good we hunger for!
I thank Thee for the voice that sings
To inner depths of being;
For all the spread and sweep of wings,
From earthly bondage freeing;
For mystery—the dream of things
Beyond our power of seeing!
