Is "1984" Katy Perry's revenge song for Taylor Swift?

Katy Perry has registered "1984" as a new song with her music publisher BMI.

It's long been rumored that the "Dark Horse" singer was considering recording a "roar" to "Bad Blood," Taylor Swift's song which fans presumed to be about her feud with Katy Perry.

“1984.” Katy Perry was born in 1984. Taylor Swift named her latest album after her own birth-year, 1989.

In addition to the fact that Katy Perry and Taylor Swift have both dated John Mayer, the "feud" is presumed to have started as a dispute over backup dancers.

Taylor Swift told Rolling Stone in her cover story before "1989" was released that the "Bad Blood" was about another female performer, describing their relationship as "straight-up enemies."
