NOAH DROWNS DIVERGENT AT THE BOX OFFICE

This weekend, "Noah" sailed to the top with $44 million, according to studio estimates from Rentrak, leaving "Divergent" drowning at no.2 after just one week at no.1.

Russell Crowe's "Noah" has already earned $51 million overseas, giving the film a cume of $95 million worldwide.

The special effects of this movie please critics but apparently not fans. This movie have alienated Christian movie goers anticipating they'd see a closer prospective to the Bible and not the fantastical elements in the movie.

But fans are fans. If a film attracts movie goers, they won’t care about whether or not the film has been condemned by pundits.

1. Noah - $44 million
2. Divergent - $26.5 million
3. Muppets Most Wanted - $11.4 million
4. Mr. Peabody and Sherman - $9.5 million
5. God's Not Dead - $9.1 million
6. The Grand Budapest Hotel - $8.8 million
7. Sabotage - $5.3 million
